Welcome to Islanders Iceworks, the premier skating facility on Long Island and home to the New York Islanders!
Islanders Iceworks is proud to offer our 2012-2013 Skating
Academy Learn to Skate program. Learn to
Skate is a program developed and taught by our world class skating
instructors. It is designed for children ages 4-12 and adults ages 18+ to learn
the techniques required to be a well rounded skater. For our younger children
ages 2-4, we offer two additional programs, First Steps and Parent/Tot. In the Parent/Tot class, a parent joins the child for a fantastic
bonding experience where as First Steps, your child will enter the world of
skating through Group Participation. Classes for younger ages focus on the
basic skills of skating while older students will fine-tune their skating,
stopping and balance. Jr. Figure Skating Academy, for levels 3 and up. While encourgaging skaters to accelerate their completion of the Basic Skills curriculum, Academy coaches motivate skaters to enhance the quality of their basic skating giving them a strong foundation in fundamental figure skating techniques. Adult Learn to Skate classes will concentrate
on the basic skills required to become an accomplished skater. Islanders
Iceworks also offers AM, PM and Saturday Freestyle sessions. Freestyle provides an opportunity for
the advanced skater to practice and perfect their jumps, spins and routines
along with other skaters of the same skill level. Iceworks Skating
Academy also conducts
annual Winter Holiday Classic Ice Show and Spring Fling Ice Shows where Learn
to Skate group participants can show off their newly acquired skills in both
individual and group prepared routines.
Private lessons are also available with all of our highly skilled
instructors. For more information on all of our sessions please refer to the
